Zeno Cosini is the anti-hero of Italo Svevo's "La coscienza di Zeno". In Trieste, the first-person narrator, who feels ill with his environment, writes down his life story after being advised to do so by his psychoanalyst. In a self-ironic narrative, the protagonist always finds a hilarious side in failing.
